Noise

In common use, the word noise means any unwanted sound. In both analog and digital electronics, noise  is random unwanted perturbation to a wanted signal; it is called noise as a generalisation of the acoustic noise ("static") heard when listening to a weak radio  transmission with significant electrical noise. Signal noise is heard as acoustic noise if the signal is converted into sound (e.g., played through a loudspeaker); it manifests as "snow" on a television or video  image. High noise levels can block, distort, change or interfere with the meaning of a message in human, animal and electronic communication.
In signal processing or computing it can be considered random unwanted data without meaning; that is, data that is not being used to transmit a signal, but is simply produced as an unwanted by-product of other activities. "Signal-to-noise ratio" is sometimes used to refer to the ratio of useful to irrelevant information in an exchange.
In biology, noise can describe the variability of a measurement around the mean, for example transcriptional noise describes the variability in gene activity between cells in a population.
In many cases, the special case of thermal noise  arises, which sets a fundamental lower limit to what can be measured or signaled and is related to basic physical processes described by thermodynamics, some of which are expressible by simple formulae.

School drop-out

There are many reasons why students leave school early. Family problems are one cause. If parents are divorced, no-one may be taking responsibility for the child. If parents are uneducated, their may be little encouragement to do homework or to stay in school. Financial factors are also important. Some students want to work in order to support their families. In contrast, others may have family businesses and not see any benefit in obtaining a high school certificates. Perhaps the main reason why students drop out is for academic reasons. For many students, school is stifling and boring. The curriculum does not challenge them or grab their attention and they are unable to be creative. Others have learning difficulties that need specialist help. The problem of school drop-out can be reduced by using several strategies. First, educational authorities have to work closely with parents to monitor attendance. They need to follow up and determine the reasons for a student’s absence. In some countries, parents are fined if the children are not attending. Schools also need social workers who can respond to family problems. A second approach is to implement changes in the curriculum so that school is more interesting for students at risk of dropping out. This could mean new methods of teaching or new subjects and facilities in the school. Thirdly, some financial help could be made available in a country like the UAE to encourage students with financial problems to stay in school.

As can be seen, there is no one solution to the problem of school drop-outs. Educational authorities, parents and schools need to work closely together to find the reason for each student’s decision to leave school, and to try to do as much as possible to encourage them to stay in the system.

Allarade urination in children

Frequent urination is a confusing symptom for many parents.

It is easy to know to go to the doctor if your child also has a fever or is complaining of pain or burning with urination, but when your child is simply urinating a lot, is that always a problem?

Well, it is not always a serious problem, but it isn't always quite normal either, so even without other symptoms, children with frequent urination do deserve to have a visit to their Pediatrician. At this visit, a physical exam and urinalysis can help to rule out most common causes of frequent urination, which can include:

The nine planets

This website is an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of the planets, moons and other objects in our solar system. Each page has our text and NASA's images, some have sounds and movies, most provide references to additional related information. In association with our friends at Solar System Scope we now have an interactive tour of the solar system (takes a while to load and opens in a new window)All eight planets can be seen with a small telescope; or binoculars. And large observatories continue to provide much useful information. But the possibility of getting up close with interplanetary spacecraft has revolutionized planetary science. Very little of this site would have been possible without the space program.

Nevertheless, there's a lot that you can see  with very modest equipment or even with just your own eyes. Past generations of people found beauty and a sense of wonder contemplating the night sky. Today's scientific knowledge further enhances and deepens that experience. And you can share in it by simply going out in the evening and looking up.

The IAU has changed the definition of "planet" so that Pluto  no longer qualifies. There are now officially only eight planets in our solar system. Of course this change in terminology does not affect what's actually out there. In the end, it's not very important how we classify the various objects in our solar system. What is important is to learn about their physical nature and their histories.

Micro-organisms

A microorganism (from the Greek: μικρός, mikrós, "small" and ὀργανισμός, organismós, "organism"; also spelt micro-organism, micro organism or microörganism) or microbe is a microscopic organism that comprises either a single cell (unicellular), cell clusters, or no cell at all (acellular).[1] The study of microorganisms is called microbiology, a subject that began with Anton van Leeuwenhoek's discovery of microorganisms in 1675, using a microscope of his own design.

Personal freedom

Free will is the ability of agents to make choices  free from certain kinds of constraints. The existence of free will and its exact nature and definition have long been debated in philosophy. Historically, the constraint of dominant concern has been the metaphysical constraint of determinism. Two prominent opposing positions within that debate are metaphysical libertarianism, the claim that determinism is false and thus that free will exists (or is at least possible); and hard determinism, the claim that determinism is true and thus that free will does not exist.

Drug addiction

Drug addiction is a dependence on an illegal drug or a medication. When you're addicted, you may not be able to control your drug use and you may continue using the drug despite the harm it causes. Drug addiction can cause an intense craving for the drug. You may want to quit, but most people find they can't do it on their own.

Sleep problems

Sleep can often be a barometer of your overall health. In many cases, people in good health tend to sleep well, whereas repeated sleeping problems may indicate an underlying medical or mental health problem, be it minor or serious. Sleeping well is essential to your physical health and emotional well-being. Unfortunately, even minimal sleep loss can take a toll on your mood, energy, efficiency, and ability to handle stress. Ignoring sleep problems and disorders can lead to poor health, accidents, impaired job performance, and relationship stress. If you want to feel your best, stay healthy, and perform up to your potential, sleep is a necessity, not a luxury.

Advantages of the Internet

One of the advantages of the internet is that it gives us students a change to learn more from a subject and expand our horizons. If they took that aspect away from us and blocked cites then the internet wouldn’t be as real as it is. We rely so much on the internet too, such as checking out bank accounts and paying bills online. Since the internet went commercial, with the help of Al Gore, the internet has now made businesses more secure and able to do business from remote locations. Inventories by the use of the internet can now make goods available and reorder as soon as they are bought in the store. We use the internet for chat purposes and people have met and dated from the internet. We all use the internet to get news and to problem solve in business, which speeds up production and how could we live with out the internet.

What is overdependency?

Overdependency is the:
Holding on desperately to other people, places or things to give your life meaning and direction.

Allowing others to "do for'' you so much so that you haven't developed a sense of personal autonomy, independence and personal responsibility for your own actions.

Unwillingness to let go of others so that you can get on with your own life.

Unwillingness to set out your own goals, aspirations and dreams for your life for fear that they won't coincide with those of the people, places and things on which you have become dependent.

Depression

Depression is a term used to describe the mix of cases of disease or illness in humans and that it overcomes the character of sadness. There are various types of depression were divided by the length of the sadness and grief than if had an impact on social and professional life of the individual and whether the sadness accompanied by bouts of euphoria as well as bouts of depression. Not considered the only human creature who can become depressed as a whole mammalian species depression has been inferred from this fact by conducting laboratory experiments on mouse and monkey. In humans infected usually 20% of females and 12% of the male heart of depression in their lives, at least there the proportion is almost constant in the different groups of human view that 5% to 10% of females and 3% of males are infected with the so-called episode major depression This is a very high rate, making the Great Depression heart of the most common mental illness.

Mental disabilities

There's a kid at school who seems different. You've heard people say he's "retarded," but you've also heard people use that word to make fun of each other.

Mental retardation (say: ree-tar-day-shun) is a term that was once commonly used to describe someone who learns and develops more slowly than other kids. But it's not used as much anymore because it hurts people's feelings.

Divorce

Divorce is the legal breakup of a marriage. Almost half of all U.S. marriages end in divorce. Like every major life change, divorce is stressful. It affects finances, living arrangements, household jobs, schedules and more. If the family includes children, they may be deeply affected.

Marital problems

Marital problems don’t always lead to divorce. At times they may cause you to feel like you want to run screaming toward the courthouse but, that doesn’t have to be the situation. I know you’ve heard this before but, I’m going to say it again anyway…marriage is work, a lot of work. The stress and strain of every day life can distract us at times and cause us to lose focus on the work that needs to be done in the marriage. That same stress can invade a marriage, exacerbate, and magnify any marital problems and issues in the marriage.

Car exhaust

Driving a car is the most air polluting act an average citizen commits. Air pollution is not a good idea for a variety of reasons, large and small. The right ideas for remediation of environmental degradations involve unselfish and compassionate behavior, a scarce commodity. The right ideas involve long-term planning, conservation and a deep commitment to preserving the natural world. Without a healthy natural environment, there will be few or no healthy humans.

Open Learning

This is a leading international journal in the field of open, flexible and distance learning. Unemployment

Unemployment (or joblessness), as defined by the International Labour Organization, occurs when people are without jobs and they have actively sought work within the past four weeks The unemployment rate  is a measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed individuals by all individuals currently in the labour force. In a 2011 news story, BusinessWeek  reported, "More than 200 million people globally are out of work, a record high, as almost two-thirds of advanced economies and half of developing countries are experiencing a slowdown in employment growth, the group said.

Harm of smoking on the human body

How Smoking Affects Your BodyThere's hardly a part of the human body that's not affected by the chemicals in the cigarettes you smoke. Let's take a tour of your body to look at how smoking affects it.

Starting at the Top

As a smoker, you're at risk for cancer of the mouth. Tobacco smoke can also cause gum disease, tooth decay and bad breath. The teeth become unsightly and yellow. Smokers may experience frequent headaches. And lack of oxygen and narrowed blood vessels to the brain can lead to strokes.

Lungs and Bronchi

Moving down to your chest, smoke passes through the bronchi, or breathing tubes. Hydrogen cyanide and other chemicals in the smoke attack the lining of the bronchi, inflaming them and causing that chronic smoker's cough. Because the bronchi are weakened, you're more likely to get bronchial infections. Mucus secretion in your lungs is impaired, also leading to chronic coughing. Smokers are 10 times as likely to get lung cancer and emphysema as nonsmokers.

Smoking and the Heart

The effects of smoking on your heart are devastating. Nicotine raises blood pressure and makes the blood clot more easily. Carbon monoxide robs the blood of oxygen and leads to the development of cholesterol deposits on the artery walls. All of these effects add up to an increased risk of heart attack. In addition, the poor circulation resulting from cholesterol deposits can cause strokes, loss of circulation in fingers and toes and impotence.

Smoking and the Body's Organs

The digestive system is also affected. The tars in smoke can trigger cancer of the esophagus and throat. Smoking causes increased stomach acid secretion, leading to heartburn and ulcers. Smokers have higher rates of deadly pancreatic cancer. Many of the carcinogens from cigarettes are excreted in the urine where their presence can cause bladder cancer, which is often fatal. High blood pressure from smoking can damage the kidneys.

The Results

The health effects of smoking have results we can measure. Forty percent of men who are heavy smokers will die before they reach retirement age, as compared to only 18 percent of nonsmokers. Women who smoke face an increased risk of cervical cancer, and pregnant women who smoke take a chance with the health of their unborn babies.

But the good news is that when you quit smoking your body begins to repair itself. Ten years after you quit, your body has repaired most of the damage smoking caused. Those who wait until cancer or emphysema has set in aren't so lucky—these conditions are usually fatal. It's one more reason to take the big step and quit now.

Early marriage

Is the practice of marriage for girls at an early age are more common in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. However, the marriage in the Middle East and North Africa and other parts of Asia as soon as puberty or shortly thereafter in common among some groups. There are also areas in West Africa, East and South Asia where the marriages long before adulthood is not surprising.

It is difficult to identify the number of early marriages, since many of them unregistered and informal. There are exceptions, such as Bangladesh, where A survey conducted in 1996 - 1997 that five percent of those aged 10 to 14 years married.

And provide studies on a small scale and dimensions of the image information Mtnaqlp, referring to the marriage at the age of very small and widespread:

The survey, which found in 1998 in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India, that about 14 percent of girls married at the age between 10 and 14 years.
In Ethiopia and in parts of West Africa, not marriage at the age of seventh or eighth is not uncommon.
In the state of Kebbi in northern Nigeria, the average age of marriage for girls slightly more than 11 years, compared with 17 years at a national level.
Parents choose to marry their daughters early for several reasons. May be considered a poor young girl's family economic burden and believes that marriage is a necessary strategy for the survival of her family alive. The thinking that the early marriage of their daughter provides protection to the risk of sexual assault, or, more generally, care provided by the values it said. May be seen early marriage also that the strategy to avoid the possibility of teenage pregnancy out of wedlock.

The gender-based discrimination would enhance early marriage. The girls are married off in the small to ensure obedience and submission in the husband's family and to maximize rates of reproduction.

The implications of early marriage serious adverse consequences on children, including:

Denial of education: Once they get married, girls tend to stop going to school.

Health problems: includes premature pregnancy, leading to high rates of maternal and infant mortality. The girls at the age of adolescence (13 - 19 years) are more vulnerable to disease transmitted through sexual contact, including the HIV / AIDS.

Ill-treatment: It is common in child marriages. Moreover, the females who refuse to marry or who choose to partner against the wishes of parents who are often punished or even killed their families at the hands of the so-called "crimes

Environmental pollution from factories

Factories pollute the air by pumping out chemicals that are harmful for all the living things!!!!!That is why there is acid rain and going to be global warming!!!!

There is a lot of science involved in this, but I don't feel like doing eight hours of research, so I will just put what I know down.

Factories can pollute the environment through thermal pollution, chemical pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, for a few examples.

Thermal pollution is when hot water is dumped into cool water in a river, lake, pond or bay. The difference in temperatures can promote algae growth, kill of native fish or wildlife, or it might cause disruptions in the water that causes the water to change temperature, also causing major problems with wildlife.

Chemical Pollution is when chemicals are exposed to the environment, either by dumping them into sewage plants, where excess waste ends up in the ground. A good example of this is nuclear waste. This needs to be treated carefully or else it could completely destroy an area.

Air pollution is when pollution is mixed in with the air. (Self-Explanatory) Look on dictionary.com for smog.

Noise pollution is when a factory causes a lot of noise... enough to effect the surrounding environment.
